May 6th to 10th
Teacher Appreciation Week!
Thank you for all you do each day for our students and our school! We appreciate you! Be sure to stop by the staff lounge Monday. More emails to follow throughout the week.
Make-Up CAASPP Testing
Great job on testing! Here is a summary of our completion rates as of last Friday:
Monday we will continue CAASPP Make-Up Testing in D101. Students will be called out of class with a pass, please ask them to promptly go to the library with all of their belongings. If a student is absent, please write ABSENT on the pass and return with TA or Campus Monitor.
Bike to School Day 2019 is on Wednesday, May 8th.
Crystal Middle is registered with schools across Solano County to strap on their helmets, hop on their bikes and pedal to school on National Bike to School Day, a part of National Bike Month in May. This year we're giving away prizes. Staff is encouraged to participate!
Bargaining Update
Please find attached a public information document that is intended to provide an update on the negotiation process between the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District and the Fairfield-Suisun Unified Teachers Association for the 2019-2020 school year. This is the second such update from the District with respect to these negotiations
A Lot Happening This Summer
Crystal Middle will host 3 programs this summer: The FSUSD Summer Math Camp for Incoming FSUSD 6th through 8th Graders, Crystal Middle Title 1 Extended School Year for current CMS 6 through 8th graders, and FSUSD Functional Academic ESY.
For Math Camp: Flyers will be distributed to all 6th & 7th graders with a follow up call home for English Learners from David Knott, our Community Outreach Liaison. The Math Camp will be held in rooms H101, H102, H103, & H104.
Below is a copy of the flyer to go home. Please remind students to bring back their RSVP to Math Camp right away. While this opportunity is being offered district wide, let's make sure our students benefit from this being offered at our home school.
For Crystal Middle Title 1 Extended School Year: This program will focus on Math and ELA Intervention, Art and more, with input from staff. The vacancies for this program are on EdJoin (Teacher in Charge, 2 Teaching positions, Secretary & Campus Monitor). This program will be in rooms D101 and D102. We will recruit students to attend in the coming weeks.
Both Programs will run July 8th through August 1st from 9:00 to 11:45.
Pass it Along: Crystal is Participating in the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), also known as the Summer Meals Program. This means our kitchen will provide kids and teens in our area free meals (breakfast & lunch) when school is out.
