English Language Proficiency Assessments for California
We begin ELPAC testing for our students designated as English Learners Tuesday, February 12th - March 22nd. Please review all three lists Mrs. Williamson shared on 2/7/19.  Students will be testing in the library.  Please be sure to send students on time and encourage them to do their best!
Note: 

  • 6th grade will test on Tuesday, February 12 from 9:30 to 12:43.
  • 7th grade will test on Wednesday, February 13 from 9:05 to 12:43.
  • 8th grade ...Friday, February 15 from 9:05 to 12:43.
  • Make-ups on Friday for any student/s absent (or sooner)


On February 19-22 students will receive a pass to test for the one-on-one speaking test.  This will be in the library.
Mrs. Coral will be assisting with ELPAC testing and when finished, will return to her schedule/depending when we finish daily.

Empathy: PBIS Focus of the Month
Our focus this month is for everyone to show empathy.  The History Department is coordinating a school wide project to create emojis... See the lesson plan here. Emoji’s Due Friday, March 1st. 
Student Discipline - Please Remember:
Students NEED to be in class!
No restroom the first and last 10 minutes of class.
ONE pass at a time! 
Stand by your door for EACH passing period. 
Cell phones OFF and AWAY
Greet your students for a random act of KINDNESS. 
Students involved in conflicts last week will participate in Restorative Justice circles in order to prevent continuation of disruptive conflicts.

 UC Berkeley Summit, Thursday, February 14th - update (2/12) - Postponed due to Rain!! 
This Friday, students from the College & Career Club, Leadership and other student groups will be attending the annual UC Berkeley Summit field trip.

Wednesday is the End of the Semester The aeries grading window is open!   It closes next  Thursday, 12/21/17, at 3pm. This Week is the Great Kindness Challenge Addressing Period Tardies: Our January SMART Goal: By January 30th, reduce the number of students with 10 or more tardies to under 100 students (not counting 1st period) Month Students with 10 or More Tardies January 27 (as of 1/21/20) December 92 November  54 October 115 As you can see, we are on track to meet our SMART goal…. More good news in January. Our referrals are down... Curiously, our Cougar Credit points given to students are down as well... The kids are responding with better behavior. We just need to keep up the positive praise! If we continue to promote positive behavior (giving points), we can assume that there will be fewer referrals and fewer tardies!!
