My Expectation for all staff at Crystal Middle School:

  • We have a BELIEF that all students can learn and it is the school's JOB to teach them.

Our Common Goal: 

We will guarantee that all students that are promoted to ninth grade from Crystal Middle School will have the necessary skills they will need in order to be successful in high school. How will we do this?

  • Rigorous first instruction
  • Data-driven decision making
  • Quality and focused interventions
  • Collaboration among all staff
  • Positive Behavior Intervention Systems (PBIS) to mitigate disruptive behaviors
  • Social and emotional support for students in crisis
  • Systems for supporting students, staff and families 
  • Strong community partnerships with our feeder schools and the community of Suisun

My Personal Goal This Year:

To support all new staff through their first year of working at Crystal Middle School and making Crystal an amazing place for students and staff.

CMS Teachers & Staff are book studying "Teach Like a Pirate" by Dave Burgess. We're setting sail under captains (administrators) that have been reading "Lead Like a Pirate" by Shelley Burgess and Beth Houf. 

Our voyaging plan is to sail everyone on the Good Ship Crystal to find the treasure of an AMAZING school with increased student engagement, boosted creativity and the transformed lives of educators and students.

Teachers - Are you MISSING any MATERIALS?  Counting Textbooks and Williams Act Verification: If you are missing something now-- please email the admin asap and they will  fill out the  Textbook Request Form The Curriculum Department will be entering classrooms on Monday, September 11, 2017 from 12pm to 2:30 to complete the Williams Act verification process for us. Department Chair Meeting Rather than pull Department Chairs in to a meeting to look at our data, all Department Chairs will receive a binder/packet with our school's data to review, reflect and share with their respective department members. All data tells a story, and ours does too. Please see your Department Chair to find out more. Please note, our Faculty Meeting for January is on Tuesday, January 30th. Upcoming TEAM Workshop on LGBT/SSOGIE on Wednesday at 3:30 in the Grange Library.  T.E.A.M. workshops are designed to bring caregivers, families and staff together as we support students throughout the school year. Meetings are once a month and qualify for salary credit or buyback hours for those that attend. For staff, meetings run from 3:30 to 5pm. A second session for families/caregivers will be on the same dates from 6 to 8pm. Wednesday is the End of the Semester The aeries grading window is open!   It closes next  Thursday, 12/21/17, at 3pm. Updates from our Community Liaison, Dave Knott: Crystal will hold a Information Assembly in each gym class featuring guest speakers from throughout the community.Our guest speakers will be: Michael Moffat, Senior District Director, Boy Scouts of America, Troop 100 2. Andre W. Davis, Commissioner, Juvenile Justice & Delinquency Prevention, The Building 3. Marvin Mora, Recreation Supervisor, City of Suisun Recreation & Community Services Department 4.
