Updates from the First Day!


Fantastic First Day!

The line of cheering staff welcoming students was transformative and amazing. We saw students were overjoyed, amazed, embarrassed and flattered; it was emotional and special for each one, and many had returned over and over again to say thank you for the love you showed. Beautiful. You can see it again on Lisa's Twitter! 


Admin to Address the Entire Student Body This Week

The administrative team will be addressing the entire student body, one PE period at a time this Friday, August 18th. We will go over school wide rules & procedures, our Cell Phone Policy, and the monthly PBIS expectation. 6th graders will get reminders about our lunch protocols as well.


"Warm Body Counts" 

Through September 6th, the administrators will be conducting warm body counts of students actually present during first period. For classes with more than one grade level, the admin will have to actually take roll and record it. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.


Thank you Teachers for promptly recording student attendance at the beginning of each period!

Welcome to Our Staff:

Cherita Merritt will be our school psychologist. She comes to us having spent many years working for the Pittsbug USD. She will start Monday, August 28th.
Our new school nurse is Diane Long. Welcome Diane! Jerrica Saelee will join Jenny White as our LVN's. Rita continues as our Health Tech. 

Upcoming Events - College & Career

The Inspire Dreams Start Now Career Fair for all 8th grade students is October 3, 2017 at the Kroc Center. 
Adriana Barrett, the College and Career Technician, will be pulling students out of class the week of August 28-1st.
As the day gets closer, you will receive further information about this event.

Department Chair Meeting Rather than pull Department Chairs in to a meeting to look at our data, all Department Chairs will receive a binder/packet with our school's data to review, reflect and share with their respective department members. All data tells a story, and ours does too. Please see your Department Chair to find out more. Please note, our Faculty Meeting for January is on Tuesday, January 30th. Upcoming TEAM Workshop on LGBT/SSOGIE on Wednesday at 3:30 in the Grange Library.  T.E.A.M. workshops are designed to bring caregivers, families and staff together as we support students throughout the school year. Meetings are once a month and qualify for salary credit or buyback hours for those that attend. For staff, meetings run from 3:30 to 5pm. A second session for families/caregivers will be on the same dates from 6 to 8pm. Wednesday is the End of the Semester The aeries grading window is open!   It closes next  Thursday, 12/21/17, at 3pm.
