January 21 to 25
Student Achievement - Winter MAP Results
Great job, Crystal Staff completing the Winter MAP!!
Students' confidential performance results for the Winter MAP are located HERE. Each file, named for the 4th period proctor, is an Achievement Status and Growth Report. It shows three pictures of growth: projections so you can set student growth goals, summary comparison of two terms so you can evaluate efforts, and a quadrant chart so you can visualize growth comparisons.
Department Meetings - Tuesday
Use the Achievement Status and Growth Report to identify the students each grade level will recognize for making growth. Remember that MAP Growth Celebration Day with special bell schedule is this Friday, January 25th.
A reminder that the MAP is a formative assessment to help us guide our instruction... See this document to select various ways to analyze the data. Admin will sift and sort this data to help us focus our effort to improve our professional development and efforts to improve results on our Dashboard.
Marketing our School
Enrollment at Crystal has declined over the last few years due to shifting enrollment boundaries and open enrollment. As a comprehensive middle school with a small school setting, we have the opportunity to brand our selves as a premiere school of choice. Nicole Dean works for the district's Administrative Services and Community Engagement department and she will be on campus frequently to take photos of us demonstrating "Strong Bonds, Overcoming Challenges Together". She has been helping us with our website, Twitter and Facebook...Please be sure to share with admin what days/times/events might be a great opportunity to feature on our social media!
Attendance
Please encourage all students to come to school! Our success in creating strong bonds with students keeps them motivated to have good attendance! All staff, please talk to the students you interact with about the need for them to be at school every day!.
Welcome New Staff
We have (had) a new and official Campus Monitor join our staff. She has been doing a great job ever since she got here many months ago. Welcome Corrie Filstrup.
We have a new Noon Duty Supervisor joining our Staff! Welcome Heather Dunn!
We have new Cal Soap Tutor helping our College and Career Club and Counselors. Welcome Iman Ereiquat! Plans are for her to continue Saeed's schedule on Wednesdays and Fridays.
We also welcome Debra Lonso to Room E102. Debra is a former FSUSD & CMS teacher. She will be in E102 teaching Math as a long term sub through the end of the year.
We say good bye to Sgt. Lex Egbert. He got a job in Dixon and will be missed. Admin is working with SPD to identify a permanent SRO. In the mean time, patrol officers are being assigned as SRO's.
