This Week:
Regarding our Active Shooter Drill on Monday
Classrooms are advised to "consider participating to the point of barricading doors", as discussed in the attached memo. How far your participation goes with this step is up to each teacher, and should be reflective of material presented in the "Run/Hide/Fight" training video.
To clarify, teachers should commit to whatever level of participation they believe necessary to impress upon themselves and their students the understanding of this step (hide - barricade) in response to an emergency situation for Active Shooter.
For example on Monday, the minimum level is viewing the actual training video and having a class discussion. The maximum level may be barricading the classroom door with as many heavy items in the classroom as safely possible and then having a class discussion. If you have any questions, please let me know.
Illustrative Math Implementation Walks This Wednesday with CIA (Roush, Farrar & Ghannam)
Also this week are Illustrative Math Admin Professional Developments!
