CAASPP Preparations

1. Testing Window Update #1 - Students with IEP's: Testing in Separate Setting Will Be with Standby Co-Teachers:

  • 1st Period - 6th Period - Library

2. Testing Window Update #2 - Students That are Disruptive During a Test Session: Call the office to request a student to be removed. A monitor will come to your room to pick up the student and escort them to the following locations:

  • 1st & 2nd Period - Office
  • 3rd through 6th - E102

3. Testing Window Update #3 - Make Ups - Students will be called & escorted - DO NOT SEND THEM PLEASE

  • 1st - 6th Period - Library
4. Please Note: Testing Environment Preparation
  • Admin tagged items on the wall with a post-it or let you know directly what needs to be covered or come down (thank you for you cooperation). 
  • Absolutely NO cell phone use from ANYONE (teacher & students) during Test Administration
5. Please Note: Headphones
  • Yes, students may use their own headphones. If they do, collect the district headphones and put them back in the Testing Envelope.
6. Please Note: ID Cards
  • If a student loses their card, or some other issue with login, notify Kiana (for cards) or Admin (for login &/or test administration issues).
7. Please Note: Checking In & Out Test Prep Materials
  • Testing envelopes (with ID cards, headphones, signs, raffle tickets & raffle ticket envelope and test administrator materials) must be CHECKED OUT from Kiana or Alison by 8:45am and RETURNED by 3:15pm every day during the window
8. Please Note: Active Proctoring and Early Finishers
  • Active Proctoring is necessary from all teachers administering the test. Examples are Walking around, maintaining a quiet & focused atmosphere, encouraging students to do their best, and reporting issues to admin when they arise. Inactive proctoring is passive sitting, using a device or not being attentive to the process.
  • Early Finishers: Student may not utilize ANY electronic device when they finish the test - this includes the Chromebooks. 
  • As students finish, collect the Chromebooks and advise students of what quiet and appropriate activities are available for them to work on as appropriate. Please see this attached list for Early Finisher Ideas
9. Please Note: Incentives!!
  • Students arriving on time and ready at the start of the testing period should receive a ticket that goes in to a daily raffle. Teachers pass out the tickets, students sign and date them on the back & teacher selects 2 daily random winners from each period. Kiana has the incentive bags in her office. Please stop by to get yours! 
  • All Teachers present each day of testing will receive a ticket for every day they are at work during the testing window. Weekly winners will be drawn for exciting and tantalizing prizes!!
